Coulisse CAL Part 1

The countdown is finally over! It is time to start the Coulisse CAL. Below you will find the written pattern and photo tutorials available on my blog and as PDF downloads. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me via email, Ravelry or just comment at the bottom of this post.

Coulisse CAL Part 1(Make 10)

Abbreviations

This pattern uses English terminology:
St/sts=stitch/stitches
Dc=double crochet (US single crochet)
Ch=chain
Slst=slip stitch
Tr=treble crochet (US double crochet)
Fp=front post
Bp=back post
Yrh=yarn round hook
Special stitches:
Waistcoat Stitch (Wst)= Insert hook between the ‘V’ created by the 2 vertical strands of the st below, yrh and complete as for dc.

Equipment (for all parts of the CAL)

  • DROPS Fabel (75% wool, 25% polyamide, 50g/205m): 3 balls of Blue Sea Print (or Pink Dream Printor Guacamole Print depending on the colourway you choose); 2 balls of Rust(or Grey Blueor Mustard) and 2 balls of Turquoise (or Pinkor Apple Green); and a small amount of Off white (for all three colourways).
  • 3mm crochet hook
  • Scissors
  • Darning needle

Note: Make sure your keep a loose tensionas you will be working into the bodies of stitches. The finished squares should measure 8x8cm when blocked

Instructions

With Blue Sea Print(or Pink Dream Printor Guacamole Print) make a slip knot (Picture 1 on grid below), ch4 (P2), sl st in first st to form ring (P3).

Ch1 (does not count as st), dc (P4), (ch2, dc) 3 times (P5), ch2, sl st in first st (P6).
(4dc, 4 ch2 spaces)

Do not ch1 throughout *Wst in first dc (P7), (dc, ch2, dc) into ch2 space (P8)* repeat from *to* 3 more times, sl st in first st (P9).
(4 wst, 4 ch2 spaces, 8dc)

Wst in first 2 sts,* (dc, ch2, dc) into ch2 space, wst in next 3 sts *, repeat from *to* 2 more times, (dc, ch2, dc), wst in next st, sl st in first st.
(12 wst, 4 ch2 spaces, 8dc)

Wst in first 3 sts,* (dc, ch2, dc) into ch2 space,  wst in next 5 sts *, repeat from *to* 2 more times, (dc, ch2, dc), wst in next 2 sts, sl st in first st.
(20 wst, 4 ch2 spaces, 8dc)

Wst in first 4 sts,* (dc, ch2, dc) into ch2 space, wst in next 7 sts *, repeat from *to* 2 more times, (dc, ch2, dc), wst in next 3 sts, sl st in first st.
(28 wst, 4 ch2 spaces, 8dc)

Wst in first 5 sts,* (dc, ch2, dc) into ch2 space, wst in next 9 sts *, repeat from *to* 2 more times, (dc, ch2, dc), wst in next 4 sts, sl st in first st.
(36 wst, 4 ch2 spaces, 8dc)

Wst in first 6 sts,* (dc, ch2, dc) into ch2 space, wst in next 11 sts *, repeat from *to* 2 more times, (dc, ch2, dc), wst in next 5 sts, sl st in first st.
(44 wst, 4 ch2 spaces, 8dc)

Wst in first 7 sts,* (dc, ch2, dc) into ch2 space, wst in next 13 sts *, repeat from *to* 2 more times, (dc, ch2, dc), wst in next 6 sts, sl st in first st.
(52 wst, 4 ch2 spaces, 8dc)

Wst in first 8 sts,* (dc, ch2, dc) into ch2 space, wst in next 15 sts *, repeat from *to* 2 more times, (dc, ch2, dc), wst in next 7 sts, sl st in first st (P10).
